Omni Fort Lauderdale Hotel Opens as Part of Broward Convention Center Expansion

Omni Hotels & Resorts has opened the Omni Fort Lauderdale Hotel, featuring 801 rooms and extensive meeting spaces, as part of the Broward County Convention Center District expansion.

Omni Hotels & Resorts has officially opened the Omni Fort Lauderdale Hotel, marking a significant addition to the Broward County Convention Center District. The hotel, located on the Intracoastal Waterway, features 801 guest rooms, including 82 suites, and offers seven dining venues. It also includes a full-service Mokara Spa, a fitness center, and a large pool deck.

The hotel provides over 120,000 square feet of meeting and event space, including the 30,000-square-foot Waterway Ballroom, the largest in Greater Fort Lauderdale. The facility also includes the 15,000-square-foot Port Everglades Ballroom and 47 distinct meeting spaces.

The opening is part of a collaborative effort among Omni Hotels & Resorts, Broward County, Visit Lauderdale, and developer Matthews Southwest. The project is expected to generate over $450 million for the local economy and create more than 3,000 jobs.

Executive Chef Cristian Mosquera leads dining options at the hotel and include Fair Ketch, a sports bar with a Topgolf Swing Suite, and Reef 76 Kitchen & Bar, which offers coastal cuisine with Caribbean influences. Other dining venues include Ibis Sky Lounge, Hidden Key, Tide Coastal Kitchen, and Leeward Market.

The Mokara Spa spans over 8,500 square feet and features eight treatment rooms, a Hammam, a steam room, and a relaxation lounge. The hotel’s pool deck offers views of the Intracoastal Waterway, Atlantic Ocean, and the city.

The Omni Fort Lauderdale Hotel is directly connected to the Broward County Convention Center and is located near Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport and Port Everglades Cruise Terminal.
