‘One Piece Card Game’ Is Collaborating With ‘Final Fantasy’s Best Artist

Yoshitaka Amano designed new Loki and Shamrock cards for One Piece Card Game

While it’s not getting a full-on Final Fantasy collaboration like Magic: The Gathering, One Piece Card Game is doing the next best thing. This November, a booster pack will hit store shelves containing art by Yoshitaka Amano, one of the Final Fantasy series’ most prolific artists.

At One Piece Day ’26 this weekend, the highest-profile announcements were for things like new One Piece movies or the new cast members for the third season of the live-action show. One Piece Card Game also got a lot of new announcements at the event, including several previews of cards that will be part of Booster Pack Vol. 18 that comes out in Nov. 2026. While Franky, Nico Robin, and more are getting some great-looking new cards, the highlights of the booster pack are new Loki and Shamrock ones drawn by Yoshitaka Amano.

Amano has a storied history across anime and video games, most famously contributing to the Final Fantasy series in its earlier years. A lot of the iconic artwork and character designs that we associate with the first six Final Fantasy titles were created by Amano, and he still works with Square Enix to design the logos for new Final Fantasy games. In 2025, he contributed some new artwork for that franchise’s crossover cards in Magic: The Gathering.

Clearly, he was interested in sticking around the TCG space as he subsequently designed the artwork for One Piece Card Game. They aren’t crossover cards in the traditional sense — these are still just Loki and Shamrock, not them reinterpreted as Final Fantasy characters. Still, it’s amazing to see another talented artist reinterpret them in a way that’s different from Eiichiro Oda’s traditional style.

One Piece Card Game Booster Pack Vol. 18 will start to hit store shelves this November. Hopefully, scalpers don’t make these Yoshitaka Amano cards impossible to obtain, as Bandai Namco has taken some action to combat them in Japan recently.
