To celebrate the highly anticipated arrival of One Piece Season 2, Netflix has announced a limited theatrical event where fans can experience the first two episodes of “Into the Grand Line” in theaters across three countries around the world: The United States, Canada, and Japan.
It has been a long wait since the live-action adaptation of Eiichiro Oda’s legendary manga took the world by storm in late 2023. Now, we are just weeks away from the Season 2 global premiere on March 10, 2026. But before you settle in for your home binge, you might want to check your local cinema listings.
The screenings are set for March 10, timed to coincide with the season’s debut on the streaming platform. For fans in the US and Canada, the showings will kick off at 6 p.m. local time.
Participating theater chains include:
- AMC
- Regal
- Cinemark
- Alamo Drafthouse
- Cineplex (Canada)
Additional screenings will also be held across Japan, making this a truly global celebration for the nakama. No word for anyone else, such as Europeans, who look to be left out in the cold.
Netflix has been steadily embracing theaters over the past year with so-called stunts. Stranger Things, perhaps, is the biggest example, getting a New Year’s Day premiere for the season 5 finale across the United States with packed screenings. KPop Demon Hunters is another example of a movie we got a couple of weekends in the tail end of the year, after it became Netflix’s #1 movie of all time, in theaters around the globe. Beyond that, Netflix’s main movies still have limited engagements in limited theater chains around the globe.
How to get tickets to One Piece at Theaters
Mark your calendars: tickets for the US and Canada events officially go on sale Thursday, February 26, at 8 a.m. PT / 11 a.m. ET. Given the massive success of the first season, we expect these seats to sell out quickly. Fans can head to the official promotional site to find local showtimes and grab their “bounty.” We’ll update you with a full list once we get it.
Titled ONE PIECE: Into the Grand Line, the second season sees Luffy (Iñaki Godoy) and his crew finally entering the most dangerous stretch of ocean in the world. Following the events of Loguetown, the Straw Hats will encounter “bizarre islands, recruit more allies, and battle formidable new foes.”
Will you be heading to the theaters to see the Straw Hats on the big screen, or will you be waiting for the midnight drop on Netflix? Let us know in the comments below!
