An Ontario food delivery driver has been banned from a major service after a viral exchange where he was accused of spitting in a customer’s order.
A video circulating on social media shows a Whitby resident confronting a DoorDash driver for allegedly spitting in his order from Booster Juice in an incident the company describes as “appalling.”
The driver appears to admit to the accusation in a tense exchange, where the customer demands an explanation, all as the driver apologizes repeatedly but fails to offer any reason for the disgusting act.

The over three-and-a-half-minute video begins by showing the customer inspecting broken safety seals on the drink, before cutting to the confrontation between the delivery driver and the understandably irate customer.
“I want to know why you did it,” demands the customer, who is met with a shrug from the driver, who replies, “I don’t know.”
The customer, clearly unsatisfied with the lack of explanation, asks, “For what? We tipped you. What’s the problem?” The driver says that there is “no problem,” and then tries to defuse the situation by explaining that his kids were in the car — a de-escalation tactic that would prove another mistake.
Next, the customer repeatedly tried to force the offending driver to drink the tainted beverage, only for the driver to retreat back to his car.
The customer then films the interior of the delivery vehicle, revealing two children who were not properly secured in seatbelts or child seats. The video closes out with police arriving on the scene and the customer alerting officers to the improperly-secured children in the delivery driver’s car.
A DoorDash spokesperson tells blogTO that “This behaviour is completely unacceptable. DoorDash does not condone any tampering with customer orders, as food safety is one of our top priorities.”
And, Whitby residents can breathe easy knowing that this delivery driver won’t be tampering with their orders any time soon.
“The Dasher in question has been deactivated from our platform and the customer has been compensated for this appalling experience,” said the DoorDash spokesperson.
“We are also reaching out to the customer directly to learn more and further offer our continued support,” they added.
