Is it just me, or is there something creepy, almost sinister about a farm at night? The thought of open plains, corn fields, and an empty barn sends shivers down my spine. But in October, it’s the perfect place to be, especially if you’re looking for a good, yet fun scare. This Halloween season, Fear Farm returns for its annual haunt experience in Ontario, bringing back its world-famous Haunted Hayride and its legendary haunts. Here’s what to know.
Terrifying live actors, immersive sets, food venues, and a one-of-a-kind gift emporium, Fear Farm has been raising the fear factor for years, easily becoming one of the best Halloween experiences in the province.
You’ll have to drive about two hours away from Toronto, towards Kitchener, to experience this fright. It takes place on Snyder’s Farm, in Bright, Ont.
During the day, you can enjoy some wonderful fall family fun, and at night, you can face your worst fears. It’s a good balance!
What to expect
On select nights through October, Fear Farm welcomes all to enter the grounds, if they dare. This year, they have added one more terrifying attraction, bringing the total to seven haunted experiences.
These include Woodsboro Asylum, The Stalking Dead, Hiller House, The Hayride, Carnevil, The Visitors, and Hilbilly Hike.
“This is more than just a haunted house; it’s the ultimate Halloween experience,” shares the Fear Farm team, and we can agree on that.
Before you go
Considering it’s a very dark and terrifying Halloween experience, there are age rules. Its intended audience is 16 and up; however, those under the age of 18 require adult supervision (21+).
Pregnant women and anyone with heart conditions are advised not to attend Fear Farm. “This event is dark, with uneven ground, bumpy rides and surprises and scares at every corner,” shares organizers.

All tickets must be purchased online in advance, as there are no ticket sales at the door. Pro tip: get your tickets ASAP, as late October nights always sell out.
