Outdoor festivals and parties to check out in Metro Vancouver before summer ends

The final few weeks of summer have officially arrived, and we’re prepared to enjoy them down to the very last street party. If you’re on the same wavelength, we’ve rounded up the biggest outdoor festivals and block parties to check out in and around Vancouver before the season winds down.

There’s never been an official block party off Broadway, but all that changes this Saturday. Organized by the Mount Pleasant BIA, this free block party will feature drinks from the Lido, live music all afternoon, vintage finds, hot dogs from the Dog Meister, and wrapped “blind books” from the Perfect Match Bookshop, all on Carolina Street just off of East Broadway.

Tickets aren’t cheap, but if you love EDM, the inaugural Soulrise Music Fest at Ambleside Park might just be the perfect summer sendoff. The brand-new festival will be headlined by Anyma, who will perform his groundbreaking visual show, ÆDEN, alongside world-class techno beats.

The stacked performer lineup also includes Argy, Kevin de Vries, Korolova, Son of Son, and Daijo.

More than 60 of Vancouver’s top chefs and restaurants will be participating in this year’s Brewery and the Beast, an all-you-can-eat and drink extravaganza that foodies eagerly await every year. It’s a great chance to indulge in tasty BBQ and go back for seconds and thirds, sip on refreshing craft beverages, and enjoy live music.

Who doesn’t love a day party under the sun? Oddity Project is throwing a huge rooftop summer extravaganza with sweeping views in downtown Vancouver, and you still have a chance to snag a pair of tickets.

Party-goers can expect a day-to-evening vibe atop Fable Bar & Grill, with feel-good house music spinning from 2 to 9 p.m.

This Labour Day weekend, Granville DJ Festival is turning Granville Street into an open-air DJ party that’s completely free to attend.

Cost: Free admission

This vibrant festival is bringing authentic Polish food, folk dancing, and heritage to the Shipyards this September. On the menu are traditional bites like pierogi, kielbasa (sausage), and paczki (donuts), as well as engaging activities for the whole family to enjoy.

Taking place just days before the first day of fall, this iconic multicultural festival is taking over the Shipyards in North Vancouver with a full day of cultural performances, international cuisine, and artisan vendors inside the Pipe Shop.
