Over 160 places in the city are opening to the public for Doors Open Toronto

22 April 20262 Mins Read

Doors Open Toronto is officially returning next month for 2026, giving residents and tourists across the city the opportunity to explore buildings and access sites that are not typically open to the public.

The annual event, which takes place on Saturday, May 23, and Sunday, May 24 this year, will also offer Toronto explorers the chance to take advantage of free admission to buildings that normally charge an entrance fee.

This year’s program includes over 160 buildings, sites, and locations that will open their doors to the public.

There will be no shortage of incredible sites to explore next month, including the Aga Khan Museum, Spadina Museum, Evergreen Brick Works, City of Toronto Archives, All Ours Studios, Hot Docs Ted Rogers Cinema, TIFF Lightbox, Netflix’s Toronto office, and the Redpath Sugar factory.

You’ll also have the opportunity to explore Toronto City Hall, where visitors will be provided with rare access to spaces that are not usually seen by the public, including the City Council Chambers, Hall of Memory, and the 27th-floor observation deck.

Since its inception back in 2000, the annual program has attracted more than two million visits to approximately 700 different locations.

Most locations will be open to visitors between 10 a.m. and 5 p.m. on May 23 and May 24, although select sites will operate on reduced hours or only be open on one day. If you’re planning on heading out, make sure to check the listing on the City’s website in advance.
