Pat Sajak has broken his four-month silence from X with his trademark sense of humor.
The Wheel of Fortune icon — who hadn’t posted on the social media platform (formerly known as Twitter) since March — took to the site on Friday, July 18, to respond to a fan with just one word.
“You ever just sit back and think about how much you miss @patsajak?” the fan wrote, seemingly referring to Sajak’s 2024 retirement from Wheel after 41 years as host.
Sajak — who famously sprinkled his dry sense of humor and classic quips in his four decades at the wheel — replied in his typical fashion.
“Occasionally,” the game show legend quipped in response.
Sajak’s reply is the first time he’s posted on the app since March, when he wished Monkees drummer Mickey Dolenz a happy 80th birthday. (“I’m right behind you,” Sajak wrote at the time.)
Occasionally.

While Sajak — whose final episode of Wheelaired last June — was much more active on X before his retirement from the show, that doesn’t mean he’s all but disappeared.
In fact, viewers still got to see him helm the wheel one last time as host of Celebrity Wheel of Fortune, which aired its fifth season in April. Not to mention the fact that Pat’s daughter, Maggie Sajak, became the social media correspondent for Wheel of Fortune after her dad’s retirement — and still shares clips of her father on her own socials.
Longtime viewers may miss seeing Pat every weeknight — Ryan Seacrest, who is also beloved by the audience, took over hosting duties in September 2024 — but clearly, he’s cemented his place in TV history.
As Vanna White, Pat’s longtime Wheel co-host, told Parade in April: “We’re great friends and always will be,”
