Pick your own blueberries at this charming farm near Toronto

23 July 20252 Mins Read

Blueberry season is just a few weeks away, and a beloved Ontario farm is opening up for its pick-your-own blueberries experience very soon. Wilmot Orchards is just a short drive away from Toronto. Here’s what to know.

Ontario’s favourite blueberry farm is back for another delicious season, gearing up to open this July and August 2025. Wilmot Orchards is about an hour east of Toronto, in Newcastle, Ont. It serves as the perfect day trip, especially if it means you get to enjoy delicious berries.

If you’ve never been to this wonderful farm, it is family-owned and women-run — supporting local has never tasted sweeter.

Pick-your-own

Now for the experience, guests can pick from 11 varieties of highbush blueberries. They then can enjoy blueberry ice cream, smoothies, and fresh-baked treats at the on-site AppleBerries Café.

Though the window to plan your picking time has not yet opened, you can sign up to be notified when it does through its website.

What to know when you arrive

Once you have a time and date set, there are a few things you’ll need to know:

  • Duration is one and a half hours
  • There are three different container sizes to choose from
  • You will then be taken to a designated picking row
  • There’s free entry Wednesdays through Fridays and $5 per person on the weekend

In terms of pricing, according to the website, the pick-you-own experience starts at $15 for two litres, $30 for four, and $60 for eight.

If you’re looking for something fun to do this summer, this is a cute and sweet idea.
