Pop star Pinkis letting fans in on a recent health scare with a bold social media post revealing she has contracted the E. coli virus while on vacation. In true Pink fashion, the “Get the Party Started” singer is seen battling the illness with what she calls “friends, and daughters, and red wine, and a Vitamin IV concoction.”
Oh—and she looks like a million bucks doing it.
The 45-year-old singer has weathered many storms throughout her illustrious career since bursting onto the pop scene in 2000 with her hit single “There You Go.” From the beginning, Pink (whose real name is Alicia Moore) has been unapologetically herself. Known for her powerhouse vocals and fearless attitude, it’s no surprise that when “E. coli decides to move into your gut,” Pink fights back with strength, humor, and a little help from a vitamin I.V. drip—and some red wine.
She captioned her post, “Ahhh life and lemons and lemonade and great memories that I might remember,” —proof that even E. coli can’t stop the force of nature that is Pink.

What Is E. Coli?
According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), “E. coli are germs called bacteria. They are found in many places, including in the environment, foods, water, and the intestines of people and animals.”
How Do You Get E. Coli?
You can contract E. coli by ingesting contaminated food or water, or through contact with contaminated animals. The infection can cause a variety of symptoms and conditions, including:
- Diarrhea
- Urinary tract infections
- Pneumonia
- Sepsis
- And, in severe cases, hemolytic uremic syndrome (HUS)
HUS is a potentially life-threatening condition that can lead to kidney failure, long-term health issues, or even death.
Pink Faces Health Scare Like the Warrior She Is
Like her millions of fans, we’re wishing Pink a speedy recovery and hoping her case of E. coli remains mild.
But judging by the bold, resilient way she handles everything in life—E. coli doesn’t stand a chance.
