Pokémon Go’s “Mega Squads” event brings out upgraded Mega forms for Beedrill and Houndoom, as well as the debut of the dog Pokémon Maschiff and the shiny version of Flamigo. This event runs from Sept. 8-14.

This event is structured interestingly, with it being split into two parts. The second part of the event will begin on Sept. 11 at 10 a.m. in your local time, and spawns, Field Research, raids, eggs will change during this time. There’ll also be two Spotlight Hours that coincide with this event (rather than having them on set Tuesdays or Thursdays).

Below we list all the bonuses and perks for Pokémon Go‘s “Mega Squads” event, including how to find a Maschiff to catch.

As part of this event, there are a few ways to find Maschiff:

  • Starting Sept. 11 at 10 a.m. in your local time, hatch it from a newly obtained 5 km egg.
  • Starting Sept. 11 at 10 a.m. in your local time, get it as a reward from a currently-unknown Field Research Task.
  • Earn it at rank 30 of the Go Pass: Mega Squads (and another at rank 60 for the Deluxe Pass).

Maschiff evolves into Mabostiff using 50 Maschiff Candy. Maschiff is not available shiny, yet.

Pokémon Go ‘Mega Squads’ event Go Pass

This event features a Go Pass with 30 ranks (plus 30 more bonus ranks). Notably, you can earn the aforementioned Maschiff from the pass just by playing the game, as well as Mega Energy for Houndoom and Beedrill.

There are also a few perks you’ll unlock from hitting the following ranks:

  • Rank 15: 2x hatch Stardust
  • Rank 15 (deluxe): 1/2 egg hatch distance when eggs are placed in an Incubator during the event period

If you pay $4.99 for the deluxe version of the pass, you’ll also net this cosmetic jacket at rank 25:
