Sabrina Carpenter served as the headliner at the Austin City Limits Music Festival at Zilker Park in Austin, Texas, over the weekend. During her set, lucky fans who had tickets to the show got the surprise of a lifetime. The pop music sensation, 26, brought out none other than Shania Twain as a special guest for a spellbinding performance of the 60-year-old icon’s smash hit “That Don’t Impress Me Much.”
Before welcoming out the Queen of Country Pop on Saturday, Oct. 4, Carpenter introduced the moment, telling the crowd, “Austin, I really like you. I show my love in weird ways. One of the ways I show my love is by gift-giving. That’s one of my languages, and I thought it would be fun to give you guys a little gift tonight. Give you guys a little present because you all showed up and showed out for all of us.”

“Austin, will you please make the most noise in the world for the incredible, one and only Shania Twain!” Carpenter announced as Twain made her way to the center stage.
Together, the two artists matched each other’s energy and style, both sporting sparkly short shorts and fashionable knee-high boots, as shown in the YouTube video above. Carpenter rocked a tied, checkered blouse and wore a handkerchief over her curled blonde locks, while Twain donned a cowgirl hat and a western-style long-sleeved shirt adorned with horseshoes across the chest.
Fans went wild as the two female powerhouse singers strutted their stuff with sheer confidence. They danced and belted out the lyrics of the iconic song while in front of a purple background of lights and risers. After pleasing the crowd with the reimagined rendition of the hit, in which Twain changed up some of the lyrics to accommodate the Texas crowd, the country legend took to Instagram to commemorate the moment.

Fans Are Begging for a Recorded Duet

Now, fans are begging for the two stars to duet on a song together.

A third follower commented with the words: “Love this!! The duo we didn’t know we needed. ❤️”
Twain and Carpenter Previously Joined Forces During a Christmas Special
This isn’t the first time Twain and Carpenter teamed up for a magical duet. In 2024, they delivered an unforgettable rendition of the classic Christmas song “Santa Baby” as part of the “Espresso” singer’s holiday special, A Nonsense Christmas, which appeared on Netflix. During the program, Twain dressed as Mrs. Claus.
Carpenter’s surprise “gift” to the Austin crowd comes as she prepares for another country-leaning moment. On Oct. 7, the two-time Grammy Award-winning pop superstar will make her official Grand Ole Opry debut. Kaitlin Butts, Kameron Marlowe, and Laci Kaye Booth will also be on hand, giving Carpenter a warm welcome during the Opry show. Fans can find tickets for Carpenter’s Opry debut here.
