Popular 2000s Band Fuels Speculation With Cryptic Post

9 July 20253 Mins Read

My Chemical Romance has sent their listeners into a frenzy with one single post.

The rock band that became popular in the early 2000s shared a photo on Instagram of a camcorder capturing a lone stage light with “Time: 7:11:25:00” near the top right corner.

“A dagger, a dagger, Please fetch me a dagger,” the caption said.

The band’s current members consist of lead vocalist Gerard Way, lead guitarist Ray Toro, rhythm guitarist Frank Iero and bassist Mikey Way. My Chemical Romance, or MCR for short, was formed in 2001. They recorded their debut album, I Brought You My Bullets, You Brought Me Your Love, just three months after their formation and released it in 2002 through Eyeball Records. Since then, the rock band has released four studio albums, two live albums, three compilation albums and six extended plays. Last month, MCR released a deluxe version of their 2004 album, Three Cheers for Sweet Revenge.

One fan quote-tweeted, “OMG I CANT TAKE THIS ANYMOREEEE.”

“i have not been able to take my mind off this for the past hour…” a listener quote-tweeted on X. “oh I hate their cryptic [explicit]!!!”

Naturally, fans exploded with a variety of theories, trying to decode what this post could possibly mean. Many believe that the post could be hinting at a new song or their fifth studio album.

“these r song lyrics for mcr5 TRUST !!!” a fan commented on X.

Another posted, “something is coming out on the 11th trust.”

“There’s no way this is just a post about the tour starting…” a fan quote-tweeted.

Meanwhile, some fans are convinced that the “Welcome to the Black Parade” singers are just hinting towards the fact that the North American leg of their upcoming tour, Long Live The Black Parade, starts this Friday, July 11.

“I think, not hope, but I think, this is related to the start of their tour,” one person wrote on Reddit.

“TIME 7:11:25 is literally just a date. July 11th 2025. Which is when the LLTBP tour kicks off,” a fan explained on Reddit. “Its nothing more than tour promo. DW about it.”

According to a user on Reddit, Aaron Hymes, the CGI artist who created the visual music video for “Foundations of Decay,” reposted MCR’s announcement to his Instagram story with “🗡️👀” as a caption. Claire Vogel, the director of their videos for the tour, also posted the photo on their Instagram story, writing “Almost time” above the post.

Until the band offers more clues, fans are left to speculate. Whatever My Chemical Romance has planned, it’s clear they still know how to keep us guessing.

MCR is set to kick off their tour on Friday at T-Mobile Park in Seattle, Washington.
