A dog walker strolling through England’s Windlesham Park this week found her morning pup walk interrupted by one of Britain’s most famous faces, HRH William, The Prince of Wales. The dog walker’s genuine reaction to running into Prince William and former soccer star Jill Scottis going viral, with fans impressed by the future King of England’s gracious treatment of the surprised British civilian.

In a video shared to social media by Fields in Trust, Prince William and Jill Scott can be seen filming a video about the importance of protecting the UK’s green spaces when the dog walker and her pup wander into the shot. The woman quickly realizes she has happened upon His Royal Highness and nearly bows before apologizing and attempting to scurry away.

“Oh my goodness!” the woman says as her dog makes a beeline straight for William, who politely replies, “Oh not at all.” The Prince of Wales comes across as kind and humble despite his royal status.

Royal watchers loved William’s “genuine” reaction, with one commenting, “Oh my, walking your lab and meeting the future king.”

“What a lovely encounter!” added another.

The organization’s current Patron is HRH The Prince of Wales, a role he assumed in 2025 following the death of his grandmother, Queen Elizabeth II, who served as Patron for many decades. Patrons are also known to assist with fundraising and bring attention to key issues affecting the charity’s work.

Retired British soccer star Jill Scott was appointed president of Fields in Trust in 2025. Using her platform and personal experiences, the beloved athlete is a strong advocate for safeguarding parks from development so future generations continue to have access to public green spaces.
