Princess Anne recently showed a lighter side of her royal duties during a visit to South Wales.
The Princess Royal, 75, stepped into the workshop of luxury lingerie label Edge o’ Beyond in Caerphilly on September 15 as part of her responsibilities as president of the U.K. Fashion and Textile Association. While there, Anne unveiled a commemorative plaque and even posed for a photo against a backdrop of delicate lace and strappy silk pieces.

“We were so proud to welcome Her Royal Highness The Princess Royal, President of the UK Fashion + Textile Association, to our South Wales Atelier last week,” the brand wrote in an Instagram post of the special moment. “Her Royal Highness’s deep understanding of the fashion + textile industry + her genuine curiosity were inspiring for our whole team.”
“This is not a photo I ever expected to see ,” one person noted in the comments.
“Princess Anne supporting women and sexy underwear I LOVE THIS ,” said another.
A third shared, “Princess Anne, The Diva You Are.”
For Edge o’ Beyond’s founder Naomi De Haan, the moment was both surreal and inspiring. “It was an immense honour to welcome Her Royal Highness to our atelier,” she told The Telegraph. “Her deep understanding of the fashion and textile industry and her genuine curiosity were inspiring for our whole team.”

De Haan also praised Anne’s approachable demeanor, calling her “very cool” and “very interested in everything.” She explained that the visit highlighted the importance of “keeping British lingerie craftsmanship alive,” while also giving her the chance to discuss broader challenges within the industry. Among them, she noted, was “censorship of the female body” in advertising.
Anne’s outing to Caerphilly was not her only high-profile appearance in recent months. To mark her milestone 75th birthday, the Princess switched up her hair in a major way as she posed for an official portrait with her husband, Sir Timothy Laurence. The image showed the princess in a more modern look, trading her signature bouffant for a low, voluminous bun which showed off her sparking tiara. This was the first time Anne reportedly has switched up her hairstyle in 50 years.
However, it appears as Anne’s typical bouffant hairdo has made a comeback, as her photos at the Edge o’ Beyond workshop showed her rocking the signature look once again.
