Rachael Ray Makes Rare Red Carpet Return with Husband John Cusimano Amid Health Concerns

13 June 20252 Mins Read

Rachael Ray returned to the red carpet on Thursday, June 12, attending the North Shore Animal League America’s 2025 Celebration of Rescue in New York City. The appearance is one of her first public outings since fans began voicing significant concerns over her health in recent months, making her presence at the high-profile charity gala a focal point of the evening.

Alongside her husband, John Cusimano, Ray posed on the blue carpet of the Tribeca 360 event. The chef, 56, opted for a black top and pants with an elegant gold jacket. The couple used the moment to shine a light on the cause, cradling adorable puppies that were available for adoption.

The public appearance arrives after a period of widespread discussion among Ray’s dedicated fanbase regarding her well-being. A video posted online, in which some followers believed the star’s speech was slurred, ignited the initial wave of concern. Ray later mentioned on her podcast that she had experienced “a couple of bad falls,” a revelation that, for many, heightened the sense of apprehension.

While on the carpet, Ray did not directly address the ongoing questions about her health. Instead, she and Cusimano focused their attention on the event’s mission: supporting the world’s largest no-kill animal rescue and adoption organization.

The Rachael Ray Foundation has long been a financial pillar for animal welfare, donating millions to rescues across the nation. Her personal brand is linked with animal advocacy, from her Nutrish pet food line, which donates a portion of its proceeds, to featuring rescue animals on her shows.

The evening, which also drew other passionate animal advocates like Beth Ostrosky Sternand Howard Stern, is a fundraiser for the North Shore Animal League.
