Raffles Hotels & Resorts announces plans to debut its first North American resort, Raffles Estera East Cape Resort & Residences, in Mexico’s Los Cabos region in 2029, in partnership with ONE Development Group.
Raffles Hotels & Resorts has announced its plans to establish its first resort in the Los Cabos region of Mexico. The Raffles Estera East Cape Resort & Residences, developed with ONE Development Group, is expected to open in 2029.
This development will mark Raffles’ first resort in North America and expand its global presence. The resort and residences are set to inhabit a sought-after stretch of untouched beachfront in the East Cape community of Los Cabos, extending from San Jose del Cabo to Los Barriles. The location is approximately an hour’s drive from Los Cabos International Airport.
Raffles Estera East Cape Resort & Residences will enjoy a unique location in the desert landscape between the Sea of Cortez and the Sierra de la Laguna mountains. The resort is expected to provide uninterrupted sea views, calm waters, and a swimmable beach, making it ideal for watersports and exploration of the rich marine life.
In its initial development phase, the resort is planned to feature 80 rooms and 46 branded residences. Olson Kundig will manage the resort’s design, Studio Paolo Ferrari will conceptualize the hotel’s interiors, and Huber Design will be responsible for the residences.
Emphasizing sustainability, the resort will reflect Raffles and ONE Development Group’s commitment to responsible development. Unique offerings at the resort will include an expansive spa, several outdoor pools, a beachfront watersports center, club spaces for kids and teens, and curated retail stores. The resort will also feature seven distinct dining options, including a lobby lounge, signature restaurant, specialty restaurant, pool bar, and gourmet café, along with a signature Raffles Long Bar and Writer’s Bar.
Raffles Estera East Cape is the first Raffles property in Mexico and the second in North America, following the successful opening of Raffles Boston. ONE Development Group, founded in 2009, has been credited with designing and developing some of Mexico’s most visionary projects. GFG Securities played an advisory role during the management agreement negotiations and will secure the debt and equity financing for the development of this landmark project.
