A familiar Reese’s candy appears to be making a big comeback this year.
The Hershey Company’s popular peanut butter-filled cups have seen a ton of spinoffs in recent years, from its Peanut Butter and Jelly Cups to sprinkle-filled treats, a sugar cookie-inspired flavor, Red Velvet Reese’s, Chocolate Lava, even caramel versions, and now the candy giant looks to be revisiting another trendy flavor mashup. Before you ask, no, it’s not a Dubai chocolate variation—it’s actually a much older idea, one that was first released decades ago.
Eagle-eyed shoppers have already spotted the find in stores, sharing photos of the stock online and quickly going viral—here’s what we know about the apparent return of Reese’s Marshmallow Big Cup.
Reese’s Fans Spot Marshmallow Big Cup in Stores
Reese’s Marshmallow Big Cup first debuted sometime in 2006, and early reviews described the marshmallow addition to the chocolatey, peanut buttery treat as “smooth” and somewhat latexy (as opposed to light and airy, like Marshmallow Fluff). So yes, it’s way different from Reese’s Mallow-Top Easter candy, which uses haf marshmallow creme and half milk chocolate to create the Reese’s cup. Whether or not the company is reviving the original recipe or has since tweaked it is currently unclear.
A rep for Hershey’s was not immediately available for comment. We will update this story with any relevant insights that may be shared.
According to a description provided on current packaging, the returning flavor features the classic milk chocolate and peanut butter that Reese’s fans already know and love, with an added layer of what the company called “marshmallow flavored filling” (suggesting it’s using an imitation technique instead of the genuine confection that, oftentimes, contains gelatin).

Sounds good, right? Yeah, most fans agree, like one who dubbed the treat “Mallo Cups meet Reese’s Cups.”
“A smore with this….oooo,” a second suggested, as a third said that they would put one on a graham cracker, then microwave it for “instant smores.”
“Peanut butter and marshmallow fluff on graham crackers is like a go to snack for me I bet these will be AWESOME!” someone else cheered.
“My store has them in stock, I’m ordering two tomorrow 😍,” another declared on Instagram.
“This looks so good!” a different fan shared before one more begged, “We need a Banana PB and Marshmallow variant”—which isn’t totally impossible, considering the brand once offered a special edition Reese’s Peanut Butter and Banana Creme Cup in honor of the 30th anniversary of Elvis Presley‘s death back in 2007.

So far, the returning candy has been spotted at Walmart, but no word on whether or not it’s exclusive to the retailer. Once Parade has more information, we’ll update this story.
Along with the expected re-release, Hershey’s recently confirmed its beloved Reese’s Egg would be on shelves soon, returning alongside several other Easter favorites this season.
