Real Housewives of New Jersey star Nate Cabral is set to undergo brain surgery in October. On Sept. 29, RHONJ’s Danielle Cabral and her husband shared the news that he has a “colloid cyst.”
“In 2017, days before Vee was born, Nate had emergency brain surgery to remove a colloid cyst from his third ventricle. He was very sick,” Danielle captioned a joint Instagram post on Sept. 29. “His symptoms recently started coming back, and after taking a scan a few weeks ago, we learned his cyst has grown. In one week, he will be heading back into NYU for his second brain surgery.”
“This time around (thankfully), he will be able to walk into the hospital positive and ahead of the game. And of course, a big slice of the infamous brain cake will be waiting for him,” Danielle added.
According to Cedars Sinai, a colloid cyst is a benign, fluid-filled sac. Though Nate’s cyst isn’t cancerous, a wide variety of symptoms can impact a patient’s day to day life.
“The cyst may press against brain tissue and cause symptoms/ These include headache, vision problems, or nausea,” Cedars Sinai reports.
Fellow Real Housewives stars sent Nate positive energy as he prepares for his upcoming surgery.
“Your in good hands and we will be praying for u guys please let us know if we can help in any way,” wrote RHONJ’s Dolores Catania.
“Sending love! You got this!!” Melissa Gorga said.
“Nate you got this!!!!!!!! Praying for you guys,” read a comment from Rachel Fuda.
Nate took a moment to thank everyone for their warm wishes and prayers.
“THANK YOU ALL FOR THE LOVE AND SUPPORT!!! Humbling to read all your comments & prayers,” he wrote in the comments section of the post.
Danielle and her family officially joined the Jersey franchise in 2023 for the show’s 13th season. Danielle was brought back in a full-time role for Season 14, which ended with the series in limbo.
The Real Housewives of New Jersey has been “on pause” since 2024. However, there have been reports that filming is slowly starting to pick back up, albeit with some big changes.
“They’re putting the pieces of the puzzle together, if that makes sense, and I can almost guarantee ‘Jersey’ fans will not be disappointed. So just hang tight, and I promise you ‘Jersey’ will deliver,” Danielle told Page Sixin early September 2025.
The cast of the upcoming Season 15 has not yet been confirmed by Bravo.
