Richmond’s historic fishing village has transformed for the holidays

15 December 20252 Mins Read

Steveston has once again transformed into a magical winter village, complete with holiday sips and festive activities for the whole family to enjoy.

Voted the #1 neighbourhood in Metro Vancouver in 2020, Steveston is full of charm, waterfront views, and local history that sets it apart from its surroundings. It remains a fishing village to this day, and much of it was declared a heritage zone in 1960.

From now until Dec. 31, 2025, Steveston Village will shine with holiday lights, seasonal displays, and festive events of all kinds. From local craft markets to puppy parades, there’s something for everyone to enjoy here.

Here are just some upcoming events and ongoing festivities in Steveston to mark your calendar for:

  • Steveston Sips (until Dec. 31, 2025): a village-wide showcase of festive drinks, appetizers, and desserts
  • Winter Tram (until Dec. 31, 2025): check out Richmond’s Steveston Tram, now decorated with Christmas lights
  • Steveston Festival of Trees (until Jan. 4, 2026): at the Gulf of Georgia Cannery National Historic Site
  • “What We Hold” Pop-Up Installation (until Dec. 31, 2025): at the Gulf of Georgia Cannery National Historic Site
  • Holiday Crafts at Murakami House (Dec. 13, 2025): at Britannia Shipyards National Historic Site
  • Songs in the Snow (Dec. 13, 2025): at Town Square Park
  • Jingle Bell Afternoon Tea (Dec. 14, 2025): at London Farm
  • Holiday Dog Parade (Dec. 14, 2025): starting at Phoenix Pond bridge along Imperial Landing Boardwalk

All events are either free to attend or low-cost, allowing families across Metro Vancouver and beyond to enjoy a bit of holiday magic at Steveston’s many historic sites.

Mark your calendars!

When: Until Dec. 31, 2025
Time: Varies per event
Where: Steveston Village
