Ahead of the 60th annual Academy of Country Music Awards — which took place yesterday (May 8) at the Ford Center at The Star in Frisco, Texas — country superstar Riley Green stopped by media row to answer some serious (and some silly) questions before the big night.
While chatting with CMT, Green revealed what he would want as “ a surprise treat on the red carpet,” sharing something oh-so silly with the outlet. Little did he know that they would come in clutch…

In a video shared to CMT’s TikTok account, Green is seen shortly before the 2025 ACM Awards, spilling to the outlet, “ If I was gonna have a surprise treat on the red carpet, I would say a steak. A really big steak would be nice. Actually, that’s why I came. I was just hoping they would have steak here.”
The same video cuts from Green on media row to Green on the red carpet, where CMT surprised him with — you guessed it — a big, juicy steak, topped with chimichurri.
“ Look at this! Y’all are insane. I might just fit it in my jacket pocket. I can’t believe you came through with this. I should have asked for something crazier,” he said in response to the tasty treat.
Naturally, fans of the Alabama native had a field day with this one, taking to the comment section of the TikTok video. “His jacket pocket… oh Lordy Riley,” one user wrote — complete with laughing emojis — while another user wrote, “There’s actually no way he said that,” seemingly in disbelief.
Nevertheless, the steak might have been the “Worst Way” singer’s good luck charm, taking home three ACM awards: Single of the Year, Musical Event of the Year and Visual Media of the Year, all for “You Look Like You Love Me” (featuring Ella Langley).
