For fans coming to the Toronto Blue Jays games this season, changes to the Rogers Centre aren’t quite as drastic as in recent years.
After undergoing a C$400-million renovation heading into each of the past two seasons, the stadium, in operation since 1989, has slowed down the new additions to the park for 2025.
The biggest changes this year are a new pair of exclusive clubs, located in right field and behind home plate, respectively.
The new Rogers Banner Club and Club 328 offer a chance for members (and non-members, pending on availability) to check out a unique private experience just steps away from their stadium seats.
But if you’re walking into a game anytime soon or simply walking past the ballpark, you might notice a bit of a refresh of the stadium exterior.
This week, the team unveiled its annual player banners for the 2025 season, featuring the members of the Opening Day roster and the new “lights up, let’s go” slogan.
Eight new players cracked the fold for this year, including starting pitcher Max Scherzer, infielder Andres Gimenez (acquired via a trade with Cleveland) and outfielder Anthony Santander, who will be facing off against his old Baltimore Orioles squad in his first series with Toronto.
And while their futures might be a little uncertain, Bo Bichette and Vladimir Guerrero Jr. have their own banners again, as well. Both players could be heading into their final seasons with the team, with the option to hit free agency for the first time in their respective careers an option for the two of them.
It’s also a big year for Toronto’s front office, with Blue Jays president Mark Shapiro heading into the final year of his contract as well, after signing a five-year extension in 2021.
Toronto is pushing for a return to the postseason this year after making appearances in 2020, 2022, and 2023, but missing out with an abysmal 74-win campaign a year ago.
