Rosewood Amsterdam, located in the historic former Palace of Justice, has announced that it will begin accepting reservations from June 1st, 2025. This is Rosewood’s first property in the Netherlands and will be the final new hotel allowed within a monumental building in Amsterdam.
The Palace of Justice, originally built in 1665 and positioned on the UNESCO World Heritage listed canals, has been under renovation for ten years. Rosewood worked to transform this iconic building while retaining its historical significance. The hotel aims to offer a unique cultural experience that combines the building’s rich history with modern luxury.
Rosewood Amsterdam features 134 guest rooms and suites, including five signature suites, many of which offer views of the canals, courtyards, and classic townhouse rooftops. For dining, the hotel offers three restaurants and bars, as well as an in-house distillery.
The interiors, designed by Studio Piet Boon, blend historic grandeur with contemporary sophistication. Original features such as cellblocks and courtrooms have been restored and reimagined for a unique guest experience. The hotel also offers a private salon boat, decorated by Studio Piet Boon, for guests to travel along the city’s canals.
The hotel aims to provide guests with a comprehensive experience of Dutch culture. It offers curated experiences that connect visitors with Amsterdam’s past, present, and future, combining service, comfort, art, cultural programming, retail, and design.
Rosewood Amsterdam also features a 2,400-square-foot ballroom for events, public areas with design elements honoring the building’s history, an Asaya® Spa, a state-of-the-art fitness center, and an indoor swimming pool.
The opening of Rosewood Amsterdam marks a significant milestone for Rosewood Hotels & Resorts, which continues to expand its global portfolio of culturally enriching properties.
