Russell Crowe Snaps at Fans Outside Paris Hotel During Awkward Autograph Encounter

25 May 20262 Mins Read

The Oscar-winning actor was spotted outside his hotel in Paris this week, where a crowd had gathered hoping to snag autographs and photos while he was in town attending the French Open. But according to videos circulating online, the encounter quickly became tense as fans pushed closer toward the actor.

“Stay where you are, don’t f***in push in on me. I’ll come to you. Give everyone space,” Crowe, 62, firmly told the crowd. He followed it up with an even more direct warning. “As soon as somebody is a d***, I’m gone. We clear?” he added.

Unfortunately for fans hoping the mood would suddenly lighten, the interaction reportedly stayed fairly awkward afterward. Videos from the scene appeared to show Crowe remaining visibly irritated while one fan was even denied a special autograph request entirely.

Still, many online defended the actor, arguing that celebrities deserve personal space and shouldn’t have to deal with overly aggressive crowds while simply trying to move through public spaces.

Russell Crowe loses his cool with fans waiting for autographs.

“I don’t blame him. Those people are vultures with no regard for anyone but themselves,” one wrote on X

Another wrote, “Bro is a human like everyone else. He doesn’t want to get pushed on. All he did was state some ground rules.”

A third said, “He should be greatful fans are there waiting for him. He hasn’t been relevant since 1990.”

“Most actors won’t even give their autograph for free,” a fourth noted.

The appearance comes during a particularly public stretch for Crowe, who has recently been drawing attention for his noticeable weight-loss transformation. Earlier this week, the Gladiator star attended the Open alongside girlfriendBritney Theriot, where he appeared noticeably slimmer, wearing a navy suit.

Crowe previously revealed on The Joe Rogan Experience podcast that he lost roughly 50 pounds after wrapping production on his 2025 film Nuremberg. “I was 126 kilos when I finished Nuremberg,” Crowe explained. “I’m 100.9 now.”
