Savannah Guthrie Gives a Heartfelt Look at Family Life in Emotional Father’s Day Post

Savannah Guthrieis honoring her husband, Michael Feldman, with a touching post alongside their children on Father’s Day.

The much-adored Today host, 54, whose mother, Nancy Guthrie, was kidnapped from her Tucson, Arizona home in February, took to Instagram to share a sweet photo of her husband and children snuggled up on the bed. In the touching shot, Feldman has his arms wrapped around the couple’s two children, Vale, 11, and son Charley, 9. However, it’s the powerful message in the caption that many fans reacted to.

Feldman Honored Guthrie on Mother’s Day

Six weeks ago, Feldman took to social media to share a powerful post honoring Guthrie for the Mother’s Day holiday. The shot showed Guthrie sitting on the floor with her arms wrapped around Vale and Charley.

“To the strongest person I know. Surrounding you with love on Mother’s Day. ❤️💔❤️,” Feldman captioned the post.

What Has Savannah Guthrie Said About Returning to Today?

It’s been a long road for Guthrie this year as she’s returned to Today while navigating her mother’s disappearance. Before her big return in April, Guthrie sat down for an interview with her close friend and colleague, Hoda Kotb. In the interview, Guthrie shared that she was apprehensive, but hopeful, about returning.

“I don’t know if I can do it,” Guthrie said to Kotb. “I don’t know if I’ll belong anymore, but I would like to try. I would like to try.”

Guthrie also shared additional information that previously hadn’t been shared with the public, including the fact that back doors to Nancy’s house were found open and that two ransom notes the family received are believed to have been real, the piece shared.

Guthrie Has Found Solace in Her Return

While her mother’s disappearance is always on her mind, Guthrie has shared that returning to the Today studio has brought a “little respite.” Noting that the team is like “family,” she shared she wouldn’t have “even tried to come back” if she had a different job. Still, the path back to Today has been a challenge.

“It’s always with me,” Guthrie said, Variety reported. “I cry every morning on the way to work, and I cry every morning on the way home. I’m grateful to have good friends, and to be able to come to such a beautiful, joyous, and supportive place, and like so many people out there, you can hold all of these things together.”
