Scandic Hotels Group has signed a lease agreement to open a new hotel in Hamburg, Germany, scheduled for completion in 2030.

Scandic Hotels Group has announced plans to expand its presence in Germany by opening a new hotel in Hamburg. The hotel will feature approximately 430 rooms and is set to open in 2030. It will be located near Ankelmannplatz square and the Berliner Tor station, a central hub for transport and public transit in Hamburg.

The hotel will be developed under a long-term lease agreement with PEG and Reiss+Co, the co-owners of the property on which the hotel will be constructed. The development is part of Scandic’s strategy to establish more hotel destinations in Germany.

The hotel will include a lounge, rooftop bar, fitness center, and a terrace on the top floor. The ground floor will house a restaurant and bar area. Plans also include parking spaces in the basement for guests and visitors. The hotel’s design will feature a modern facade and Nordic design elements.

Hamburg is Germany’s second-largest city, with a population of nearly 2 million. It is a significant hub for logistics and trade, as well as a popular destination for both international and domestic tourists. The city is also a leading European center for science, research, and education.

The new hotel will be Scandic’s second location in Hamburg, aligning with the company’s growth strategy in the region.
