Scandic to Open Scandic Go Hotel in Stavanger, Norway in 2028

Scandic will open a new Scandic Go hotel in Stavanger, with construction starting in 2027 and opening scheduled for 2028.

Scandic has announced plans to open a new hotel under the Scandic Go brand in Stavanger. The property will offer 152 rooms and will be located in one of the city’s central buildings. Construction work is scheduled to begin in 2027, with the hotel expected to open in 2028.

The new hotel will be situated in a redeveloped property within the Ankerkvartalet complex. The area is being developed by property owner SVG Property. According to the announcement, Scandic currently operates five hotels in Stavanger.

The new Scandic Go hotel will be the third in the brand’s portfolio to open in Norway. Previous announcements included new Scandic Go hotels in Oslo and Tromsø. The property in Stavanger will be established through the renovation and conversion of existing premises.

The hotel is planned to operate under the Nordic Swan Ecolabel, the official environmental certification in the Nordic countries. Scandic said it will prioritize recycled materials in its operations, including chairs made from coffee grounds and tabletops made from recycled textiles.

SVG Property is the property owner involved in the redevelopment of the Ankerkvartalet complex, where the new hotel will be located.
