Penn Entertainment plans to open a second hotel tower at M Resort Spa Casino Las Vegas on December 1, pending regulatory approvals.
Penn Entertainment has announced the anticipated opening of a second hotel tower at M Resort Spa Casino in Las Vegas, set for December 1. The project, valued at approximately $206 million, is expected to open ahead of its initial timeline, contingent on customary regulatory approvals.
The new hotel tower will nearly double the capacity of the M Resort property, located south of the Las Vegas Strip, increasing the total number of rooms and suites to 765. In addition to the expanded accommodations, the development will introduce a new 15,000-square-foot Montese Ballroom, scheduled to open on October 1, 2025. The expansion is projected to create 120 new jobs at the resort.
As part of the development, Penn Entertainment is partnering with The Emeril Group to introduce Meril, a restaurant concept from Chef Emeril Lagasse. This will be the second location for Meril, originally based in New Orleans. The restaurant will offer a menu inspired by Lagasse’s culinary expertise.
The M Resort expansion is one of several growth projects announced by Penn Entertainment. The company recently opened a new land-based casino in Joliet, Illinois, and has plans for additional developments in Aurora, Illinois, and Columbus, Ohio. For the M Resort project, Penn Entertainment plans to access $150 million in funding in the fourth quarter from Gaming and Leisure Properties, Inc., at a 7.79% capitalization rate.
The M Resort Spa Casino is situated on more than 90 acres at the southeast corner of St. Rose Parkway and Las Vegas Boulevard. The resort features over 92,000 square feet of gaming space, multiple dining options, a spa, a fitness center, a pool and an events area.
