Elmo is going viral for a warning shared this week—one that social media users found extremely relatable.
On Monday, Feb. 24, the official X (formerly Twitter) account for the Sesame Street character tweeted an update, cautioning anyone who may encounter Elmo to pack their patience and prepare for some out-of-the-ordinary behavior.

Twitter users everywhere, regardless of whether they initially followed Elmo online or not, took the alert seriously, sharing similar statements and even advice on how to nap better in response.
“It is okay, happens to all of us,” one wrote. “Tell Cookie Monster I said what’s up.”
“Elmo that’s great you’re taking naps. Try either a 10-20 min nap for an energy boost or 90 min for a full cycle,” a second added. “It will also help if you nap at the same time each day.”
“Elmo, it’s completely understandable to feel grouchy when naptime doesn’t go as planned. Perhaps consider setting a consistent nap schedule or exploring different nap durations, as suggested, to enhance your rest and mood,” another suggested. “Remember, it’s okay to feel this way, and taking care of your well-being is important.”
“Gang – I fear me and Elmo are one in the same,” a different fan shared.
Others had a little more fun with their replies, like one who joked, “Maybe don’t sleep in a trash can next time?”
“This should be good,” one more wrote, sharing the infamous gif of Elmo surrounded by flames.

“It’s always something with you,” a different X user declared.
“Me to my bf when i’m a little mean to him,” someone else quipped.
“Me when my period starts,” another teased.
“If no one got me I know Elmo got me,” one more shared. “He knows what’s up.”
Elmo hasn’t offered an update on today’s mood or nap schedule, but for the sake of the rest of the neighbors on Sesame Street, let’s hope he’s been able to get a few Zzzs in!
