Shake Shack is giving customers even more snacking options, adding a new side to menus for the first time–but not for long, as the addition isn’t being made permanent, at least not yet.
The beloved burger chain teased the new addition on social media yesterday, hinting that “something was coming” in a now-deleted Instagram Story mocked up to look like a letter from corporate written to its popular crinkle-cut fries.
Then on Tuesday, it officially revealed that another “crispy” and “craveable” favorite would be heading to menus and “stealing the spotlight” as its newest side: Fried Pickles.

Shake Shack’s Fried Pickles take “thick, juicy dill pickles” and fry them up “to perfection, with a crisp outer layer packed full of flavor,” according to an official description. They’re served with a side of Shake Shack’s Buttermilk Ranch and are said to be “even better” when paired with an entrée like a hot dog, burger, chicken sandwich, six-piece nugget, or even its crinkle-cut fries (which aren’t going anywhere).
Along with the limited-edition side, currently available while supplies last for $3.99 (prices may vary by location), Shake Shack is bringing back “everyone’s favorite” milkshake for a limited time.
Not only that, its summer BBQ menu, which features popular picks like its Carolina BBQ Burger With Fried Pickles, Smoky Carolina BBQ Chicken, as well as its Spicy Fries with Ranch (that can also be ordered to include cheese sauce), has also made a welcome return.
