Signia by Hilton Indianapolis Reaches Construction Milestone

The Signia by Hilton Indianapolis has reached its highest structural point, marking a significant milestone in its construction, with completion expected by fall 2026.

The construction of the Signia by Hilton Indianapolis has reached a major milestone, with the building topping off at 38 stories. This development marks the first Signia by Hilton in both Indiana and the Midwest, with the hotel set to open in the fall of 2026. The project is currently 62% complete.

The hotel, once finished, will feature 800 rooms and approximately 100,000 square feet of meeting space, including a 50,000-square-foot ballroom. It will be directly connected to the Indiana Convention Center and Lucas Oil Stadium via a skywalk over Capitol Avenue. The facility will include seven dining options, a rooftop sky bar and pool, a fitness center, and wellness-focused guest rooms.

The project has created over 2,300 construction jobs, with nearly 40% of the workforce composed of minorities. The construction involves more than 100 local subcontractors and has seen the installation of 5,100 out of 5,900 panes of glass. Additionally, 72,000 cubic yards of concrete have been used, and up to five cranes have been present on-site simultaneously.

The hotel will be part of the sixth expansion of the Indiana Convention Center, which has been in planning for nearly a decade. This expansion will allow Indianapolis to host two citywide conventions simultaneously, featuring one of the nation’s ten largest convention center ballrooms. The development has already secured $1.3 billion in retained convention business, with potential new bookings valued at $1 billion.

The City of Indianapolis has financed the project with $625 million in hotel revenue bonds. Key partners include construction manager AECOM Hunt, design firm Ratio Design, Central Indiana Building and Construction Trades, and concrete subcontractor FA Wilhelm Construction.
