Simons is opening its first urban Toronto store and here’s when you can shop, Life in canada

28 July 20252 Mins Read

Toronto’s shopping scene is about to get a major shakeup, with the city’s first-ever Simons opening up.

The Quebec-based retailer has built a loyal following for its blend of trend-forward fashion, exclusive in-house labels, and a shopping experience that feels more like a design gallery than a traditional department store.

Until now, though, Toronto shoppers had to travel to places like Square One in Mississauga to get the whole experience.

That’s about to change.

Simons is opening two new locations in Toronto this year as part of a broader national expansion. The first opens next month, with a second to follow at CF Toronto Eaton Centre later in the year.

The debut store at Yorkdale Shopping Centre spans 118,000 square feet across two floors, making it one of the brand’s most prominent locations to date. Doors open at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, August 14.

Inside, shoppers can expect a curated mix of exclusive labels, international designers, and local artists. However, the full lineup is still under wraps.

The Yorkdale location will be its 18th store nationwide and only the fourth in Ontario.

Founded in 1840 in Quebec City, Simons remains a family-run company nearly two centuries later. Its long-awaited arrival in Toronto marks a significant milestone — and signals a new chapter for the retailer in Canada’s largest city.
