Simons just opened a huge, three-floor store in downtown Toronto

18 September 20253 Mins Read

What a year it’s been for Canadian retailer Simons, as it has officially opened its latest storefront in Toronto.

Despite the struggles facing Canadian department stores, Simons has beaten the odds and opened not one but two new locations in Toronto. Following its grand opening at Yorkdale Mall, the family-owned business has officially opened its doors at the Toronto Eaton Centre on Sept. 18, 2025.

Fashion IS art

The three-level, 112,000-square-foot store was created in collaboration with Gensler Design, LemayMichaud Architecture, and Reliance Construction. Its design, a theme of Perennial Ephemera, is a concept inspired by natural cycles of light, growth, and transformation, according to the retailer.

“From layout to lighting, every detail was considered with the customer in mind and designed to strike a warm balance between calm and vibrancy—while supporting shoppers’ journeys through curated style environments spanning multiple floors,” it adds.

In addition to the thoughtfully designed space, there are also 20 art stations featuring 40 original works by 15 Canadian artists from across the country, featured in its Walk of Frames project.

More than half of these pieces are crafted by Toronto-based creators, along with Quebec talent and Indigenous artist Renée Condo of Mi’kmaq heritage.

According to the retailer, each station is numbered and paired with a QR code which shares the stories and perspectives behind the art.

“At Simons, we believe fashion is one of the most powerful forms of self-expression—a daily opportunity to share who we are and what we value,” said Bernard Leblanc, president and CEO of Simons.

“That belief is reflected in every part of this new store: in the creativity and art that surround us, in the exceptional customer service we are known for that connects people on a human level, and in the sense of community we are proud to build together. Opening at the iconic CF Toronto Eaton Centre is not just a milestone in our continued investment in the GTA and coast-to-coast growth — it’s a celebration of Toronto’s spirit and Canada’s place on the world stage.”

Curated finds

Customers can enjoy the works of art while browsing through the store’s boutique-style zones. You can find Simons’ exclusive Canadian-designed collections for men, women, and home. Its private labels like Twik, Icône, Contemporaine, Miiyu, Le 31, Djab, i.FiV5, and Simons Maison can be found throughout the three levels.

The store also features the Édito department, a boutique-style selection of nationally recognized brands and top designer names.

Ready to shop? The new Simons Eaton Centre location can be found where the old Nordstrom location used to be. Now with two locations in the city, there’s no excuse not to visit — even if it’s just to browse.
