Skittles 'Bold' New Release Is 'Probably Really Good,' According to Some Fans

18 August 20253 Mins Read

The rumors are true! Skittles is taking advantage of the sweet-and-spicy (“swicy”) trend with its latest new release.

Recently, social media has become obsessed with not only unique flavors–like Zapp’s new Bayou Blackened Ranch Kettle Chips, DQ’s Caramel Toffee Cookie Blizzard, Mountain Dew-flavored Trolli gummies, and Califia Farms’ non-dairy horchata–but standout flavor experiences like Sprite Chill, Powerade Xtra Sours, and Starburst’s surprising new lollipop, to name a few.

Now, Parade has learned that the viral social media post suggesting Skittles would be launching a trendy candy of its own wasn’t all talk–it’s actually happening.

“At Mars, we’re always paying attention to emerging trends and looking for exciting new ways for our fans to experience SKITTLES,” Ro Cheng, vice president, marketing at Mars Wrigley North America, shared in an Aug. 18 statement. “With SKITTLES Gummies Fuego, we’re adding some spice to a sweet, original fan favorite, bringing a bold flavor experience that we know ‘swicy’ fans will enjoy.”

What are Skittles Gummies Fuego?

According to the official announcement, the new Skittles Gummies Fuego take the soft Skittles gummies candies and transforms them with a “bold” remix of five flavors (mango, watermelon, strawberry, raspberry, and lemon) that have been coated in “a tangy chili layer that adds a spicy twist to the same gummy treat fans already know and love.”

The new release appears to be a divisive one, with fans suggesting it’s a “love it” or “hate it” product, one that’s meant for a niche base.

“some of those are too spicy for me,” one admitted in response to the viral leak, noting that they’re still “probably really good.”

“I can’t wait to try themmm,” a second declared.

“Man they’re really out of ideas 😆,” one more joked. “It’s either scorch all taste buds or sweet all the things that aren’t normally sweet.”

Where can I buy the new Skittles Gummies Fuego?

For those interested in the “swicy” Skittles, the new treat is available beginning Monday, Aug. 18, in 5.8-ounce packages. The limited-time offer will hit the TikTok Shop first, followed by select retailers later this fall, and will officially complete its nationwide rollout by January 2026.

Skittles Gummies Fuego is the latest in the fan-favorite candy brand’s lineup of “growing innovations,” joining Skittles POP’d, Skittles Littles, Skittles Gummies, and of course, the original Skittles and all its flavor spin-offs, which it said is further proof “there’s no limit to how fans can ‘Taste The Rainbow.”
