Sofitel Berlin Das Stue To Open in Q1 2027

SO/ Berlin Das Stue will transition to Sofitel Berlin Das Stue in Q1 2027, adding the 78-room property to the Sofitel network.

The hotel is located on the edge of Berlin’s Tiergarten, overlooking the Berlin Zoological Garden, in the city’s embassy district. It occupies a heritage-protected 1930s neoclassical building that originally served as the Royal Danish Embassy.

The hotel’s name, “Das Stue,” means “living room” and references the building’s diplomatic origins. Some guestrooms have views of the zoo’s animal enclosures.

Axthelm Rolvien Architekten and designer Patricia Urquiola developed the hotel’s transformation into its current format. The property’s design incorporates elements connected to its diplomatic heritage and Danish identity.

As part of the transition, the property will undergo an enhancement program, including guestroom upgrades, bedding and soft-furnishing updates, refreshed public spaces, updated signage, corridor refurbishments and lobby changes. The lobby changes will include new artistic and decorative elements.

Sofitel Berlin Das Stue will have 78 rooms and suites, including the Bel Etage Suite and Penthouse Suite. Facilities will include an indoor heated swimming pool, spa, fitness facilities, private meeting spaces and dining venues.

The transition will add the Berlin property to Sofitel’s European portfolio. Sofitel Dublin is also planned for 2027.

Germany has nearly 300 Accor hotels and more than 43,000 rooms across its segments. About 30 projects are in development in Germany.
