Southern Ontario’s largest inland lake flows along this enchanting small town

6 October 20252 Mins Read

Perched along the southern shores of Lake Simcoe is a cute little town that offers a bit of everything. Georgina, Ont., has lush hiking trails, a super cute waterfront, local eats, and a “fairy tale-like” spa.

Time to plan your trip!

If you live in Toronto, good news. Georgina is just a quick road trip from Toronto, about an hour away with no traffic.

I recommend starting your day at one of Georgina’s most popular attractions: The Briars Resort and Spa.

The spa offers a variety of services, including skin care, massages, holistic therapies, and salon services, open Tuesday to Sunday.

Briar’s is also a resort, so if you want to make an overnight trip out of it, you totally can.

Planning on going during the fall? The resort/spa has some seasonal happenings, including a delicious Thanksgiving dinner with live music, Haunted Fridays with a spooky trail walk and mini market, and a big party on Halloween night.

If you’re a lover of the outdoors, then Sibbald Point Provincial Park will be the spot for you, and this time of year, the colours are fantastic.

This park is open year-round, but autumn is particularly beautiful. The Maidenhair Fern Trail is perfect for getting some steps in, stretching 2 km and marked as “easy” for hikers of all skill levels.

Finish your day off with some fish chips from Anchor, a family-friendly restaurant beloved by locals. And, if you’re up for it, go to Jackson’s Point Harbour to catch the sunset. Thank me later.

Getting away from city life is easier than you think, and now your perfect day away is all planned out.
