Spanish Accommodation Operator, Líbere Hospitality Group, Enters UK Market with London Property

  • Líbere Hospitality Group (LHG), a Spanish operator of short- and medium-term accommodation, has established its first UK presence through an operations agreement for a 44-unit property in London.
  • This move is part of LHG’s expansion strategy, which aims to extend its reach beyond its existing Southern European markets.

The Spanish operator of alternative short- and medium-term accommodation, Líbere Hospitality Group (LHG), has penetrated the UK market via its first operations agreement in the capital city, London. The newly acquired 44-unit property on Edgware Road is scheduled to start operations in May 2025. This marks LHG’s initial venture beyond its familiar markets in Southern Europe.

The UK expansion is part of a broader strategy that has propelled LHG’s growth in Spain, Portugal, Italy, and Greece. LHG manages a portfolio of over 1,900 units across more than 50 properties in these five countries. This portfolio includes both operational assets and those under development. With an additional 16 openings planned for 2025, LHG anticipates having 1,200 units in operation, indicating a 135% increase from 2024. Furthermore, the company projects a total pipeline of 3,000 units, representing a 66% year-on-year growth. These milestones align with LHG’s long-term vision of expanding its model across Europe’s key urban markets.

The company adopts a digital-first approach, offering fully serviced, design-led spaces tailored for short- and medium-term stays. LHG’s unique operational model combines centralized technology, contactless access, flexible pricing, and a distinctive design inspired by Nordic and Japanese aesthetics.

Operating on an asset-light model, LHG focuses on managing hotels and serviced apartments without directly owning the buildings. Instead, LHG identifies high-potential assets and collaborates with property owners. This strategy enables the company to scale quickly, adapt to market changes or traveller trends, penetrate new markets, test new formats, and optimise its footprint with reduced risk and enhanced operational focus.

The London Edgware Road hotel will operate under the Líbere brand.
