Spiritual Guru Deepak Chopra Speaks Out As New Emails With Jeffrey Epstein Surface

Famous Indian-American spiritual guru Deepak Chopra, 79, is responding to backlash after several emails between himself and Jeffrey Epstein began circulating online after 3 million pages of documents from Epstein’s case were released by the U.S. Department of Justice.

“I am deeply saddened by the suffering of the victims in this case, and I unequivocally condemn abuse and exploitation in all forms,” he wrote on X on Feb. 4. “I want to be clear: I was never involved in, nor did I participate in, any criminal or exploitative conduct. Any contact I had was limited and unrelated to abusive activity.”

Chopra admitted that “some past email exchanges” he shared with Epstein “reflect poor judgment in tone.”

“I regret that and understand how they read today, given what was publicly known at the time,” he said. “My focus remains on supporting accountability, prevention, and efforts that protect and support survivors.” Chopra disabled comments on the statement.

The surfaced communications show Chopra, who is the author of more than 90 self-help books, communicating regularly with Epstein from at least 2016 through 2019, 8 years after Epstein was first convicted of soliciting prostitution from a minor in 2008.

What Did Deepak Chopra Say in the Epstein Files?

Newly and previously released emails between Chopra and Epstein raised eyebrows. While some appear to show Chopra requesting financial advice, others that mention “girls” and “women” are drawing the most scrutiny.

“God is a construct/Cute girls are real,” Chopra writes to Epstein in an email from March 2017. In another, Chopra tells Epstein he is “deeply grateful for our friendship.” The duo appeared to plan to meet up several times throughout those years, including a dinner meeting with controversial actor Woody Allen.

In one email, Chopra asks Epstein about President Donald Trump‘s ex-wife in July 2016, saying, “Btw – do you know Marla Maples? Anything we share is between us. I share nothing with anyone but trust you.” Epstein responded that he did know her, and even “lost a 10k dollar bet” with Trump when Maples told him she was pregnant. He claimed he “sent [Trump] a truck of baby food” as payment.

The two often share messages using metaphors about “the tiger,” with Chopra saying things like “I will die riding the tiger,” “tiger is tamed for now,” and “The tiger is hungry.” In one exchange, Epstein asks Chopra what he “enjoys most now,” which Chopra responds to with a lengthy message.

“I don’t know that I can really say,” he says, in part. “My biological needs are met occasionally but – that too – it seems I’ve been there / done that… I do enjoy the company of younger intellectually sharp and self aware women and love to engage with them to inspire and stimulate them.”
