Sterling K. Brown Has a Sweet Reunion With His 'This Is Us' Co-Star After Injury

Sterling K. Brown reunited with his former This Is Uscastmate, Justin Hartley, during the 2026 Golden Globes, held on January 11.

Entertainment Weekly reported that Brown, whose role in Paradise snagged him a Best Performance by an Actor in a Television Series — Drama Golden Globe nomination, was photographed beside Harley at the event. The former This Is Us castmates sat at a table inside The Beverly Hilton hotel, where the 83rd annual Golden Globe Awards were held. Brown, with his pant leg rolled up, let Hartley see his leg after his tearing Achilles tendon. Hartley looked concerned while touching Brown’s leg.

As fans are aware, Hartley played Kevin Pearson, the troubled and famous brother of Randall Pearson (Brown), in This Is Us, which ended after its sixth season in 2022.

According to Entertainment Weekly, Brown let his fans know he “just tore [his] Achilles tendon” by “doing something athletic” in a September 2025 Instagram post. He clarified that he wasn’t doing anything “super dangerous” when the injury occurred.

“Just took a step and it felt like somebody stomped on the back of my heel. I was like, ‘Who stepped on me! Who stepped on me!’ And they’re like, ‘What are you talking about, man?’” recalled Brown in his Instagram video.

During an E! News interview at the red carpet for the 2026 Golden Globes, actressKristen Bell asked Brown how he’s been recovering following his injury.

“It’s getting better. It’s getting better everyday. Like, I can walk, I can swim, I can ride a bike. But I can’t run yet. So I’m getting there,” replied Brown, who was accompanied by his wife, actress Ryan Michelle Bathe.

In the same E! News interview, Bathe shared her thoughts about her husband’s risque scenes while playing his Paradise character, special agent Xavier Collins.

“I watched the whole episode and I closed my eyes when the cheeks came out,” said Bathe to the publication.

Brown interjected that what his wife said wasn’t true.

“You say it ain’t no fun if the homies can’t have nothing. We want to share with the world. Just on TV, though,” quipped Brown.

Bathe also confirmed to E! News that she is joining the cast for the upcoming second season of Paradise. The Hulu series premiered its first season in 2025.
