Accor, in partnership with Beijing Tianheng Group, has announced the signing of a deal to open a new Swissôtel hotel in Chengdu, China. The hotel, Swissôtel Chengdu Beihu Lake, is slated to open in 2026.
The hotel will be located in the rapidly developing Beihu community within the Beihu Ecological Park. The park, known for being the largest artificial lake and ecological lake area in Chengdu, is a popular destination in Chengdu, ranking among the top 20 most beautiful parks in the city. The area is transforming, with new lakeside residential communities, green spaces, recreational areas, shopping, businesses, and high-end amenities being developed.
Gary Rosen, CEO of Accor Greater China, anticipates that the new hotel will provide a significant economic boost to the Beihu community. The hotel will combine Swiss elegance with a focus on sustainability and cultural preservation, offering a unique hospitality experience.
The Beihu Ecological Park is a ten-minute drive from the Giant Panda Base, a popular tourist attraction. Plans are underway to build a world-class international tourism resort centered around the unique ecological and cultural value of giant pandas. This move, combined with the government’s support, is making the area increasingly attractive to property developers, investors, and residents.
Swissôtel Chengdu Beihu Lake will draw inspiration from its natural surroundings and the sophistication of its Swiss roots. Its resort-style buildings will offer views of Beihu Lake, and guests will have access to lakeside gardens, camping venues, arts, entertainment, and cultural activities.
The hotel will feature 150 guest rooms, each equipped with the exclusive Swissôtel Bed collection and Swissôtel’s Pürovel Spa products. It will also house a restaurant and bar, private meeting rooms, and artistic design throughout the property.
