Talk to Me directors new film looks terrifying in stylish first trailer

19 February 20252 Mins Read

Danny and Michael Philippou, the directing duo behind 2023’s breakout horror hit Talk to Me, are back with a new movie that looks just as scary and stylish as their debut. The new film is called Bring Her Back, and the first teaser trailer, which was released on Wednesday, already looks fantastic.

The trailer doesn’t give too much away, but it seems like it follows some kind of bizarre ritual designed to bring a young girl back from the dead. More importantly than the plot itself, though, is the trailer’s excellent sense of style. The little bits of morphing text on the side gives us clues on the plot, while the scenes gradually shift into increasingly horrifying images until we finally see a glimpse of what might be a zombie-ish child, if our guesses are right. Either way, it does a better job of selling the movie in a minute than most trailers manage in three.

Bring Her Back also marks the Philippous’ second collaboration with A24, which also produced Talk to Me. Bring Her Back stars Sally Hawkins (The Shape of Water), Billy Barrat (Mary Poppins Returns), Johan Wren Phillips (Sweet Tooth), and Sally-Anne Upton (Neighbors). The film is set for release on May 30.
