Juno Temple is returning to Apple TV+ in a new show!
The SAG Award winner, who played Keeley Jones in the streamer’s beloved Ted Lasso, will star in the comedic drama The Husbands as Lauren, a woman whose attic is creating an infinite supply of husbands. Apple TV+ announced the series from A24 on April 2, with Miriam Battye (“Succession,” “Dead Ringers,” “Beef”) serving as the lead writer. The Husbands is adapted from games designer Holly Gramazio’s debut novel of the same name.
Celebrating the show’s announcement on Instagram, Gramazio wrote: “Some pretty silly news! So so so excited about this, and not totally sure I’m not making it up: @a24 are making a tv show of “The Husbands” for @appletv, with @junotemple as Lauren and @itsmiriamm writing the script and Craig Gillespie as lead director. What an AMAZING dream ridiculous bunch of brilliant people, what a deeply weird turn of events.”

Is The Husbands based on a book?
Holly Gramazio wrote the New York Times bestselling book The Husbands, which the Apple TV+ series is being adapted from. In a piece for PEOPLE, Gramazio wrote that her 2024 book “is a comedy about a woman named Lauren who comes home from a party to find her husband waiting for her on the stairs — which is weird, because when she left the apartment that afternoon she was definitely single. But things get even stranger when the husband climbs up into the attic to change a lightbulb, and a different man comes down. Lauren’s attic, she slowly realizes, is creating an infinite supply of husbands; each time one man goes into the attic, a different man comes out.”
The games designer also shared that The Husbands is in part “about the difficulty of making decisions, about feeling frozen in the face of too many options.”
Who is in the cast of The Husbands?
So far, only Temple has been announced for the show. The Fargo actress will play Lauren in The Husbands.
What is The Husbands about?
The show follows Temple’s character Lauren who one late night returns home to her London flat, where she is greeted by her husband Michael. “There’s only one problem— she’s never seen this man before in her life. As Lauren tries to puzzle out how she could be married to someone she can’t remember meeting, Michael goes to the attic to change a lightbulb and abruptly disappears,” the series’ logline reads. “In his place, a new husband emerges. Realizing that her attic is creating an infinite supply of husbands, Lauren confronts the question: If swapping lives is as easy as changing a lightbulb, how do you know you’ve taken the right path? When do you stop trying to do better and start actually living?”
