The Bellevue Hotel in Philadelphia
The Bellevue, part of The Unbound Collection by Hyatt, affectionately known as the Grande Dame of Broad Street, announced its official grand opening on February 11, 2025, following extensive renovations that have revitalized this historic landmark.
After substantial renovations, the Bellevue Hotel, an iconic landmark in Philadelphia, officially reopened its doors on February 11, 2025. Founded in 1904 by George C. Boldt, the Bellevue is known for its architectural beauty and cultural significance in Philadelphia’s history.
The restoration effort aimed to modernize the hotel while preserving its historic charm and appeal. The renovated Bellevue now features 184 restored guest rooms, including 39 suites, and a 100,000-square-foot luxury wellness destination, The Sporting Club. The Sporting Club boasts state-of-the-art fitness and recreational amenities, setting a new standard for hotel experiences.
The Bellevue’s renovation was a collaborative effort led by real estate owner Dean Adler and design innovator Tony Machado. With input from renowned designers, the team successfully restored and modernized the hotel, preserving its original architectural elements while introducing contemporary design influences.
The guest rooms and public spaces were redesigned to honor the hotel’s early 20th-century opulence while incorporating a modern take. The interiors now feature restored crown moldings, marble-tiled bathrooms, and full-height windows, blending historic design elements with modern aesthetics.
The hotel also unveiled its Presidential Suite, a luxurious 1,800-square-foot space designed to feel residential and refined. The suite features a hand-painted mural, an antique mantel, and an “Orangerie” area with Belgian bluestone antique floor tiles and outdoor furniture.
Bellevue’s public spaces, including the lobby, The Conservatory, and the rooftop restaurant Pergola, have also been revitalized. These spaces showcase the hotel’s historic charm and cater to guests’ needs, offering a variety of experiences.
The hotel will further expand its offerings throughout the year, with plans to introduce new retail spaces, dining concepts, and wellness facilities. Bellevue has also partnered with Cescaphe, a leading wedding and event partner in Philadelphia.
