It’s the time of year for the best photos to get posted.
Whether you’re just sharing them with family members or posting them on Instagram, it’s undeniable that fall is the time for the best photos. From family photos to cute couple pictures, fall provides the perfect opportunity for that scenic, picturesque backdrop.
Here are some of the best fall photo spots in Edmonton that we’d recommend. All the spots are outdoors, offering the best views of the changing leaves and crisp fall weather.
Mill Creek Ravine Park
This park has the best trails surrounded by the lush scenery of the Edmonton River Valley. With the creek, beautiful pathways and trails, and the leaves showing off all their different colours around you, this park is the best place for a great shot with a camera.
If you find yourself strolling through the river valley, you’ll find yourself enchanted. It’s pretty in person, and it’s even better when you can capture a picture.
Address: 76th Avenue NW, Edmonton, Alta.
Emily Murphy Park
Emily Murphy Park is located just south of the North Saskatchewan River, offering stunning views of the River Valley.
During the fall, all the leaves dropping to the ground create a beautiful display of autumn’s arrival. With all the trees turning colour and the season in full swing, it makes for the perfect picturesque scene for any photo you’re looking to take.

Terwilligar Park
This place offers the most scenic bridge views you can find in any Edmonton park. Terwilligar Park is a riverfront park with a footbridge that overlooks the North Saskatchewan River. It’s a gorgeous sight any time or year, but with the leaves changing and the weather at the perfect temperature, it’s the best time to go in the fall.
Address: 10 Rabbit Hill Rd. NW, Edmonton, Alta.
University of Alberta
There are so many spots to take photos around the province’s resident university campus. The University of Alberta even provides its own map for the best grad photos around campus, but it’s also helpful for those just snapping a shot.
The university quad is a great place to start, with the surrounding trees and tall buildings providing a stunning backdrop.
