The best spots in Edmonton to see the blooming flowers this season

13 April 20263 Mins Read

It’s springtime, which means Edmonton is just starting to hit full bloom.

You can see blooming flowers and trees all around the city, but we’ve rounded up the best spots in Edmonton to see the blooms this season. Whether it’s near the River Valley or right in the centre of the city’s legislature grounds, there are loads of spots to snap a great pic and take in the sights.

Without further ado, let’s jump into things!

Victoria Promenade

This promenade overlooks the North Saskatchewan River and the River Valley, giving the most gorgeous views of the city. Most importantly, however, are the beautiful blooming trees which line the street. These trees and flowers offer the best spots to take a great picture or to just sit down and enjoy the scenery.

Where: 11716 100th Ave. NW, Edmonton, Alta.

Borden Park

With over 100 years of history, this park, located in the middle of the city, has so much to offer.

It also has a formal flower garden within the park as well, but the beautiful blooming flowers are not the only thing that comes to life in the spring at this park. With stunning public art and a great bustling atmosphere, you won’t regret making a trip out here this spring.

Where: 7507 Borden Park Rd. NW, Edmonton, Alta.

Alberta Legislature Grounds

There’s no question about it: the Legislature Grounds absolutely sparkle in the spring. With the gorgeous flowers, the stunning nature, and the beautiful sight of the Legislature building just towering over, it makes for the best pictures (especially if you’re graduating).

Where: 10800 97th Ave. NW, Edmonton, Alta.

Irene Parlby Park

This park is less traditional than most. While there aren’t any fire pits or picnic spots, there are several small gardens and bench spots for sitting. Not to mention, there’s also a wide variety of trees blooming in this small park, making it a great spot for the best blooming scenery.

Where: 9545 100th St. NW, Edmonton, Alta.

George F. Hustler Memorial Plaza

Here is the magnum opus of blooming tree spots. The pinks and whites and lavenders of the season will be as bright as ever in this plaza, with the trees surrounding it absolutely bursting with colour.

If you’re looking for a spot where you’re guaranteed to see some blooming flowers, this is definitely the one to beat.

Where: 9815 95th St. #9803, Edmonton, Alta.
