The best Toronto farmers markets to explore this winter

23 December 20253 Mins Read

Farmers markets in Toronto aren’t just a summer thing; many of them are open all year round, held indoors to keep you warm while you shop. If you loved this experience in the warmer months, definitely keep it up into the winter. Thankfully, Toronto is home to weekly farmers markets scattered all over the city. We’re sure that wherever you live, you’ll find a local market just waiting for you to explore.

We’ve compiled a list of a few farmers markets that are still open in the winter, worth checking out:

If you’re familiar with the St. Clair and Wychwood community, then you’ve most definitely experienced the Wychwood Barns market – The Stop Farmers Market. Though it takes place outdoors in the summer, vendors set up shop inside Wychwood Barns during the winter.

Get your hands on fresh produce straight from local farmers, and enjoy treats by local vendors, artists, and more. It’s open Saturdays, and lucky for you, it’s open year-round. Take note that some vendors may be away over the holidays.

When: Saturdays
Time: 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Where: 13 Benson Ave.

Not only does it sell fresh fruits and veggies, but you can also find meat and dairy products, prepared foods, baked goods, preserves, and more. The Dufferin Grove Organic Farmers Market is open every Thursday from 3 to 7 p.m., even in the winter.

When: Thursdays
Time: 3 to 7 p.m.
Where: Dufferin Grove Clubhouse at the Northwest corner of the park – 875 Dufferin St.

This next pick might be a bit of a distance from the downtown core, but trust us, it is worth the visit. The massive site spans a whopping 10,000 square feet and is packed with all kinds of great goodies up for grabs. We’re talking fresh seasonal fruits and veggies, specialty items like artisanal honey, and loads more.

When: Open Saturdays and Sundays
Time: 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Where: Downsview Park, — 40 Carl Hall Rd.

Toronto’s largest year-round farmers market is even open in the cold months. It’s a great time to support local Ontario farmers and small businesses, too.

When: Saturdays
Time: 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Where: Evergreen Brick Works Winter location: TD Future Cities Centre — 550 Bayview Ave.

In the winter months, the market moves indoors to Henderson Brewery! Expect live music and themed events inside this cozy indoor space. Of course, you’ll find fresh local food and prepared eats from farmers, food artisans, and food vendors.

When: Mondays
Time: 3 to 7 p.m.
Where: Henderson Brewing co. — 128A Sterling Rd.

Support local all year round!
