The Cheapest European Beach Breaks For Shoulder Season Sun, Canada Reviews

4 September 20252 Mins Read

Summer is almost over, and yes, we’re just as sad as you. But there’s still a chance to rinse this season for every drop of sunshine that you can. How, you ask? By heading to a budget-friendly beach destination!

Flight operator easyJet has developed a ‘cheap beach index’ which has analysed the price of a beer, an ice cream, a three-star hotel, a family meal and a three-course dinner, as well as return flights (from the UK, but to give you an idea). The beachy spots with the highest scores (indicating the cheapest prices) have been ranked.

Recommended: The 16 best beaches in Europe, according to .

Topping the list is Nessebar, a Bulgarian city on the east coast of the country with a 3,000-year-old UNESCO-protected district, as well as a long stretch of sunbathe-ready sand – no wonder it’s known as the Pearl of the Black Sea.

Here, a beer costs a mere £1.60 (€1.84), an ice cream just £1.20 (€1.38), and a night in a hotel will set you back only £45 (around €51.85), helping it accrue an impressive index score of 94.1 out of 100.

Budva Riviera in Montenegro claimed second place with 73.6 overall (a three-course meal will set you back just £30, or €34.50), and Costa De Almería in Spain followed with 60.9 (return flights from the UK to Almería Airport are the cheapest on the list at just £60 or €69), but there’s plenty more where that came from – read on.

These are the 10 best cheap beaches for shoulder season sun

  1. Nessebar, Bulgaria
