The rain continues to pour down on the city
According to Weather Canada, this upcoming weekend will see a 60 per cent chance of rain taking over Edmonton once again. This is both on Saturday and Sunday, so any weekend plans will have to be moved indoors.
This past week we’ve seen incredible storms taking over Alberta as a whole. From lightning to tornadoes, it certainly seems like we’re getting every type of geological phenomenon.
Fairy Berry Festival is taking over the long weekend… rain or shine
Fairy Berry Festival is back for another year of strawberry madness in Alberta. The u-pick season might be coming to an end, but the fun is just beginning.
The Fairy Berry Festival is the longest-running festival at Prairie Gardens and Adventure Farm. Here, you’ll be able to browse some of the fun activities spread throughout the grounds after a delightful berry breakfast. You can race through the mazes, take part in some lawn games, visit furry friends at the Petting Farm, hop on a wagon, or even get your face painted.
It’s just north of Edmonton, so you won’t be too far from home.

After Hawrelak Park was closed for renovations, the festival temporarily moved to a new location at Edmonton Exhibition Lands and Borden Park. Now that the renovations are done and the park is back open, we can enjoy the Edmonton Heritage Festival in its stunning original spot.
With over 100 international awards, this heritage festival is one of the largest in the world, according to the fest. For the summer, you can experience three days of this multicultural extravaganza. It has won over 100 awards and is deemed an “intangible cultural asset” by UNESCO.
Despite the forecast, the festival is going to be nothing short of show-stopping.
Take a stroll through West Edmonton Mall and all their new stores
At West Edmonton Mall, it feels like you can blink and there’s a brand-new storefront. But if you’ve missed some of the shops that have recently opened, or are about to, we’ve got you covered.

These pyramids are home to over 700 different kinds of plant species, all within the botanical gardens in four unique pyramids. Here, you’ll be surrounded by music, nature and beautiful works. According to the City of Edmonton, the Muttart is actually home to the city’s biggest indoor plant collection.
