Let’s jump into everything going on in the city.
What’s trending, Edmonton?
West Edmonton Mall is bursting with new stores and restaurants
Whether it’s Unique Bunny, Alberta Boot Company, or Brewco, there are more and more openings in the mall every single month. It’s going to get busy, so shop wisely.
I’d be looking out for Unique Bunny, especially, as it’s bringing over Asian skincare that keeps going viral online, like Canmake. Not to mention, they also offer makeup services and skin analysis.
The weather is continuing to be the same in the city… all over the place
The forecast for Edmonton is unbelievably sporadic (or, pretty believable if you’re used to the city).
With slight chances of a tornado today due to high winds, as well as thunderstorms continuing throughout the next two days, it’s not going to be a fun time. However, according to Environment Canada, Friday will be our one chance for a day outdoors, as the high will be 21 degrees Celcius with a sunny disposition.
Despite the weather, farmers markets will persevere
It’s summer in Edmonton, which means all the fabulous farmers markets are opening up for the season. Even though the weather won’t be great this week, some of these outdoor markets will still come through.
Let’s talk about St. Albert Farmers Market. With over 200 vendors, it’s the largest of its kind in Canada, and you’d definitely be missing out if you didn’t stop by. Rain or shine, this market will make your weekend.
Go take a yoga class with alpacas outside of the city
Yoga with the Herd is a combination you never knew you needed, and one you’ll certainly never forget.
Just outside of Edmonton and into Spruce Grove is Blooms on 7, a flower and alpaca farm. They offer outdoor experiences that will allow you to breathe the fresh air and get your healthy dose of alpaca attention. I’m already looking at booking a class this season myself; it’s just the perfect activity with friends.
Looking for an activity on a budget? Metro Cinema has got you covered
Throughout June, July, and August, the historic Metro Cinema is offering cheap movie tickets on Tuesdays. It’s an absolute steal of a deal.
Whether it’s I Love Boosters or Backrooms, this theatre has a bunch of different selections ranging from box-office breakers to indie throwbacks.
