The Edmonton International Film festival is showcasing excellent cinema for 10 days

25 August 20252 Mins Read

Back and better than ever, the Edmonton International Film Festival (EIFF) is ready for a life-altering season of cinema.

Returning for 10 days, spanning from Sept. 25 to Oct. 4, is the 39th Edmonton International Film Festival, Edmonton’s annual festival highlighting the incredible and diverse films from around the world. With films curated from submissions and solicited from distributors, this festival showcases high-quality films and presents a series of filmmaker chats, Q&As, gala screenings, local filmmaker spotlights, and more.

The films featured include a range of genres across feature-length films and short films, with over 140 films planned for the course of the year.

What to expect

This year, EIFF will be at two venues. These locations will be Landmark Cinemas in Edmonton City Centre and the historical Metro Cinema at the Garneau Theatre.

For this year, physical All-Access passes are back. The All-Access pass gets individuals one ticket to everything, based on availability. Individuals are recommended to book their tickets early to avoid individual tickets selling out. The pass includes a physical pass for memorabilia or daily use.

If you’re looking to only see a few films or have a couple of friends who want to tag along, you might be interested in the 6-Pack tickets EIFF is offering. This pack works as six individual tickets to regular-priced ($15) films, but they are not valid for Lunchbox Shorts or Gala films.

The full program announcement is coming Sept. 5, so stay tuned for more updates on the highly anticipated 39th EIFF!

When: Thursday, Sept. 25, 2025, to Saturday, Oct. 4, 2025
Where: Landmark Cinemas 9 City Centre — 10200 102nd Ave. NW, Edmonton, Alta. and Metro Cinema — 8712 109th St. NW, Edmonton, Alta.
Cost: Varies
